Dear All, here is my version of WTC 1 Prelude and Fugue F minor, BWV 857.
Personally, I find the fugue of this pair quite difficult to play, and to me it forms (together with the Eb maj prelude, as well as the A maj and A min fugues) one of the most complex parts of WTC book 1. Looking at benchmark performances, one can note that the fugue of the F minor pair is interpreted both in a slow/thoughtful and a more aggressive, forward urging way. Personally, I find the latter more attractive, and I think the chosen registration of the Freiberg supports this case quite well.
