Description: | For a long time I thought: Böhm ... who is Böhm? ... no big musical Visions, and something for small organs.
Today I know I was totally wrong. Böhm‘s music has splendid features: »grandezza«, dramatique, elegance, a high quality level of composition-technique, an interesting mixture of middle-German, French an north-German baroque style, and ... charme. You can feel a comfortable and »protected« moment of your life if you have this music around you. And Böhm‘s organ music needs a big instrument and a large church room.
Böhm‘s organ music was also very important for the younger J. S. Bach; he wrote a lot of organ pieces which are free copies of some Böhm-Preludes and -Choralpreludes.
During my recording of Böhm‘s »Vater unser im Himmelreich« I got the information that of my teachers, Marie-Claire Alain died last month. So I want dedicate my Böhm-performances, especially the famous Versus III from »Vater unser im Himmelreich«, to her memory.
