The Villa Seligmann is the former home of the first CEO of Continental AG Siegmund Seligmann. As one of the few Hanoverian testimonies of the Jewish bourgeoisie before the Shoah, the villa with its hall and its numerous rooms is the ideal place for a house of documentation, research and communication of Jewish music. It offers space for instruments and concerts, for exhibitions, Lecture series and class events. Since it opened in 2012, it has been an integral part of Lower Saxony's cultural life as the “House of Jewish Music”. Your Siegmund Seligmann Gesellschaft eV promotes the mediation of Jewish music in all its manifestations through the implementation and further development of various event formats. Through the language of music, she makes a great contribution to the visualization and experience of the diversity of Jewish life. The Villa Seligmann is open to a broad public and is a place of interpersonal encounters: it sets signs for the further revival of German-Jewish friendship. It has become a beacon of Jewish sacred music and offers an international forum for people to meet regardless of their origin. |
