Description: | I'm in the process of doing the "24 Divertimenti" by Joseph J. McGrath (1889-1968), and this is number 16 in the collection. The entire group is being recorded on the Hereford Willis, but, since I had the Utrecht organ loaded, and wondered what this one "sounded like," this is the outcome.
The "wrong" sounds of the Utrecht organ add to the overall color and mood.
This is a wonderful "piece of the moment." It's sad and sweet, with a brighter middle section. It's a delicate, little thing - almost like an ancient gossamer, hanging from the dark roof of an old church, fluttering here and there in a draft, mostly hidden by the dark gloom, but brightened just a little by a sun beam peaking through, and then,,,
Poof!
It's gone...
THANKS to Carson Cooman for the music! |
