Pierre Dandrieu (of Andrieu), was baptized at Angers on March 21, 1664, and died in Paris on October 20, 1733. He was a composer, organist and priest.
After having been student of Lewis, he held the position as organist for more than 40 years at the Saint-Barthélémy Church, now destroyed, on the île de la Cité in Paris. His nephew, Jean-François Dandrieu, succeeded him upon his death.
This wonderful setting of "Puer nobis
nascitur", is based on the same melody as my "Advent-Hymn-of-the-Day", "Come, Thou redeemer of the earth".

I'll see if I can learn and prepare a few more of these settings... ;-)
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!! :-)
