Lately, I zapped through the CCH Facebook feed and discovered an interesting article about Hans Zimmer and how he used Hauptwerk in conjunction with the Salisbury sample set to prepare the motion picture sound track for "Interstellar". Well, that's been reason enough for me to watch the movie -- and after the show, I was in such an awe that I was somehow *urged* to get the OST as well...
The melodies being simple, yet powerful, I tried to relive that feeling on the Sauer -- of course, a solo organ cannot cope with an organ *PLUS* all the extra strings, woodwinds, etc... :-/
"Interstellar Vastness" marks the second of three takes on this moving sound track (with the third one being kept for my 100th CCH upload). Anyway, I hope that some of you might put an ear or two into the original -- I surely doubt that you'll regret it.
For those who own a 7.1 surround system, an 8-channel FLAC file can be picked up here to get an impression of what it will sound like in my living room:
