As the Metzler Poblet has beautiful Grand Jeux on all three manuals, I thought I’d upload the Louis Couperin g-moll Chaconne once more.
A bit curious of how many time this well-known piece would have been uploaded to the concert hall I checked the entries and came up with the following (hope I got them all):
And now on the Poblet Metzler.
I recommend them all, if only to compare the organs.
All recordings are good, but two are notable:
Probably the Chaconne was written for the harpsichord, so 162_Ranks harpsichord version is a worthwhile listen to.
Agnus_Dei ’s version is interesting, because he played it on an organ not exactly made for Couperin to say the least, in a transcription by Joseph Bonnet, in such a personal way, that it is a total listening-must!
