This is a better version, because I found a little detail-fail in the version from yesterday, which dirsturbed me. So here comes the new.
This is one of my favorite pieces for organ-presentations to tourist-groups.
Many fine registrations can be showed in a short time and the piece is rather flexilble in it's duration between 6 or 11,5 minutes, if you play the repeats or not...
from the preface:
Johann Bernhard Bach was born in Erfurt 1676 [...] he died in Eisenach 1749. His father was Johann Aegidius Bach, a second uncle of Johann Sebastian. [...] Among his pupils was the composer Johann Gottfried Walther.
Score:
Edition Breitkopf 8608
I thank for the 3 comments by Aarnoud, Yolar and Alberto, which I received yesterday:
Aarnoud (06/29/20)
That's an exquisite piece to demonstrate the possibilities of an organ, Engelbert! I love it and that goes for the rendition too!
yolar (06/29/20)
This is really great! Indeed a good piece to show the coulours of an organ. Simple and beautiful, that's such a good combination.
Pachelbel's chaconnes are also very nice to show an organ (especially the Chaconne in C), nice to try!
In fact, the theme is almost the same. You can find it here:
