Hymn to the Fallen

John Williams very moving music from the film:Saving Private Ryan. I usually play this (without the percussion) at some point during the local Remembrance Day service but this year there is no service as such due to the Covid situation.
It is not unusual to have percussion on concert organs and indeed, the organ at Hull City Hall included both timpani and side drum together with several other other tuned percussion stops. They were removed in the Compton rebuild after the war.
However, I reckon that both should be added to the existing larger models of the Concert Series.
In between now and the 11th. I hope to get out an extended version of this piece which will include a virtual choir and rather different approach to this shorter version.

We will remember them.
