Description: | Hakim writes in his foreword:
"A solemn first variation, Moderato, declames the melody of the chant on the principal 8 in the pedal with a contrapunctal accompaniment. The second variation, Grazioso, is a bicinium for manuals alone, with the cantus in the right hand and a light accompaniment in perpetuum mobile. The third variation, Adagio, is a meditative ornamentation of the melody on the flute with an expressive harmony. The forth and final variation, Allegro con spirito, is a rhythmical and joyful development of the melody in a sond form with introduction and coda."
I liked the sound of the Oloron-Organ for this set of variations! Only I would wish a second mixture for the final part, which is shining a bit more, but it is OK how it is....
My last upload is loooooong ago, but it has some very nice reasons: We became grandparents and our young family moved to our house, so that we had to renovate and change nearly all rooms. I hope, that I find more time for new uploads soon.
