Description:
He was a contrapuntist unlike any other in his time. At the age of 16 I listened with enthusiasm to his great symphonies, the 4th in E flat major was my absolute favourite!
He could improvise for hours on the queen of all instruments. This organ fugue fell into my hands, which Anton Bruckner dedicated to a certain Pastor Kerschbaum. It spontaneously makes me think of the Fugue in E flat major from the Well-Tempered Clavier Part 2. Wonderful work on the theme. Before this austerity, the candles in the church hall stop flickering ..... A certain Johann Sebastian would certainly have liked this.
