Georg Böhm is one of the major composers of the North German baroque school. Interesting is that he shows many influences in his compositions (mostly for organ and keyboard, but he also wrote some nice cantatas). This chorale prelude on 'Vom Himmel hoch, da komm ich her' has a clear and recognizable structure, which other German baroque composers like Buxtehude, Hanff & Bach use.
Recorded on the small (but very complete) Schnitger organ of Steinkirchen. A nice chance to show the very fine Krumphorn in this chorale prelude.
