Introduction and two verses of the hymn with interlude and modulation between verses one and two. This is how I would typically accompany a stately opening hymn in a worship service (given an instrument with resources similar to the PAB, of course!!)
Introduction is various versions of the four phrases of the hymn, and a "tag": with contrasting harmonies
First verse is the hymn straight through in the key of F major on principals and mixtures of the organ.
The interlude modulates to the key of G major and adds reeds at two points for build-up and the Chamade enters.
Second verse is all principals and chorus reeds throughout the organ with alternate phrases soloed out on the chamade. Final phrase adds both 32' flues and 32' Bombarde for a solid ending with depth and presence.
