Description: | It took me a long time, but the project of the well-tempered organ continues to progress. Here now my Opus11 No.7 - Prelude and Fugue in E flat major.
Who does not have the probably greatest organ work by JSB in mind, Prelude and Fugue in E-flat major BWV552.
I have followed this analogy in 2 points. First, the prelude is in the style of a French overture, a powerful, strongly dotted Grave embeds a fast middle section, which already hints at the following fugue.
The fugue is again in odd time, and sounds loose and light in contrast to the grave. It is, however, not easy to play - sorry, the pedal in particular is expected to make lively runs that are hardly playable for the "normal" organist.
That the relatively modern Mascioni organ in Giubiasco (Swiss Ticino) is quite well tempered, it has already proven in earlier pieces from opus 11. It is absolutely predestined for this piece, especially the Grave sounds very festive.
Finally, it remains to be said that the playing time is about 7 1/2 minutes, also due to the extensive fugue.
Yes, the project continues to progress and after the last piece is before the next. Op.11 No.8 in D sharp minor - for this exotic I will plan something very special. Have fun now with this composition and to all a nice, sunny Sunday with lots of music! |
