1766 Riepp Heilig-Geist Organ (Surround), Ottobeuren, Germany
|
Software: | Hauptwerk VIII |
Genre: | Baroque |
Description: | Johann Pachelbel worked as an organist in Vienna, Eisenach, Erfurt, Stuttgart, Gotha and, from 1695, at St. Sebald's Church in Nürnberg. He was one of the most important composers of the southern German organ tradition, and it is therefore somewhat fitting to record this little piece on a southern German organ. I experimented with a number of sets in terms of the transparency of the upper voices, and the small Riepp clearly won the competition, even with a plenum registration like here. |
