Pavana 1

This pavan by the Spanish Renaissance composer Luys de Milán (1500-1561) was originally composed for the vihuela, a Spanish variant of the lute.

It comes from the "Libro de Musica de Vihuela", published in 1536.
The transcription for keyboard instruments is by Ulrich Metzner.

This meditative piece is particularly well-suited as communion music, so I played it in church yesterday and today for communion.
