Henry Hackett (1872-1940) was an organist at churches in Birmingham, West Bromwich, Burton-on-Trent and Bideford. He was a regular contributor to the journal 'The Organ' He composed anthems, communion settings piano pieces and songs as well as a number of organ compositions which were published both in England and the USA.

I came across this piece in an old album published in 1933 entitled ‘The English Organist’. The Choeur Triomphale in D has recently been re-published with some of his other music by Bardon Music

The youtube video shows me playing this on the large Kenneth Tickell organ in Worcester Cathedral. Worcester is about 25 miles from Hereford.
