Can't play YouTube videos


When I upload a recording here I always include a link to its YouTube video. I know I have entered the correct video ID, because my video shows in the window. But when I try to play that video I only see a spinning arrow, and then it times out. If I click on the YouTube button, it plays with no problem, but directly from the YouTube site. This seems to happen with all of my uploads, although I can play the videos of other users with no problem. Does anyone know what the problem is, or how to fix it? Thanks.

Noticed that problem as well a while ago, but wasn't able to figure out what's going wrong here. For my own videos, I made sure that the "allow embedding" checkbox is ticked in the YT video details. However, having it enabled (already had for all of my videos) doesn't resolve the issue.

Looks like this would require some on-site debugging with access to the site HTML/JS by our admin guys. :-/

Thanks for looking into this. The problem is not when uploading the recording and adding the video, but when trying to play the video after the upload is complete. My most recent upload is this one: https://www.contrebombarde.com/concerthall/music/56666

Since I uploaded it in July, I have not been able to play the video. But for some reason, when I just tried it again now, it worked. Of course. Maybe if you try it at a few different times you will run into the error too. Thanks again.

Just retried on my videos, too -- all of them playing fine right now.
Chances are pretty high that this could have been an issue with YouTube itself, as they recently updated their codebase again and fixed a bunch of errors that occured with their video embedding feature, which could be observed on other platforms as well.

I'd consider this to be fixed for now but will keep an eye on it too see whether or not we'd get something reproducible. In that case, I'd post a follow-up notice on this thread.
