Description: | Here we have another powerful, traditional High Holy Day melody. As in the previous case, I just "played it as I remembered it," and this harmonization is probably a little "bland" in comparison to what I normal do - which is also an "improvised" harmony.
I guess I just do more with it, when I SEE the tune as I'm doing it... ;-)
This melody and text will be sung several times during the day of Yom Kippur.
I wish you all a Happy New Year, whether or not you are Jewish! Prayer and good wishes are always welcome.
As the liturgy says, "May we all be inscribed for blessing in the Book of Life."
The translation of this "V'al Kulam" is as follows:
For all these sins,
God of forgiveness,
Forgive us,
Pardon us,
Grant us atonement. |
