Carlotta Ferrari (b. 1975) — Nozze mistiche (Fantasia per organo) (2016)
“Nozze mistiche” (Mystical Marriage) is inspired by “Sposalizio della Vergine” (The Marriage of the Virgin), a 1523 painting by Rosso Fiorentino (1495–1540). It hangs in the Basilica di San Lorenzo in Florence, Italy.
Carlotta Ferrari (b. 1975) is an Italian composer, organist, singer, and musical therapist. Educated at the Conservatory in Milan, she has composed in many genres. Notable works include the cantata "Giorno d'ira" (2008), written in memory of the victims of terrorism and performed in Como under the auspices of the president of Italy. Her "Operatic Suite on Melodies of Verdi" has been performed around the world by the Bruno-Valcepina piano duet. Ferrari's music appears on several CD recordings, including an all-Ferrari organ CD recorded by Carson Cooman in 2014. She is currently the chair of music composition at Hebei Normal University in Shijiazhuang, China.
