Description: | This was inspired by Edo's nice recent uploads of "galant style" music. The idea is to upload an "imaginary 3 movements organ sonata" by Mozart, using three of his Kirchensonaten :
- 0:00 : allegro (K144 in D ; transc. by Hannes Meyer)
- 2:52 : andantino (K67 in E flat ; transc. by Hannes Meyer too)
-- 5:37 : allegro (K336 in C ; transc. by André Isoir).
The Kirchensonaten were composed to be played by organ and orchestra during services in Salzburg Cathedral, beetween the Epistle and the Gospel (eg. at the moment when the Alleluia is now sung in Roman catholic services)
Despite their service purpose, most of them are in Mozart's most smiling manner and sound quite playful and secular. Peculiarly the K 336 which sounds - IMHO- quite as the final of some piano concerto.
The Riepp seemed quite adequate for this, with its array of beautiful flutes and strings.
Last, I'd have liked to play the first "movement" a bit faster, but fingers didn't agree ; even like that, I had to do some Audacity editing in this first movement. |
