Description: | Gaspard Corrette (c. 1671 – before 1733) was a French composer and organist.
He was born around 1671, probably in Rouen, where he was organist for the church of St-Herbland. In approximately 1720 he moved to Paris. The exact date of his death is not known. His son, Michel Corrette, also was a musician, composer, violinist, harpsichordist and organist.
These next four uploads are to demonstrate more of the versatility and capability of the soon to be released sample set by Lavender Audio.
In this upload, the Cromorne (plus 8' flute) of the Great Organ is played against the 8' & 4' Flutes of the Swell, with the Pedal Openflute 8', coupled to the Swell.
I'll be uploading more uploads on this sample set over the next few days, demonstrating it's flexibility from the Baroque, through the Romantic, and into the Modern periods of music.
The score is attached below, as well as what I THINK is a portrait of Gaspard Corrette. |
