Louis Vierne (1870 - 1937) was a french organist and composer. He studied at the Paris Conservatoire with Cèsar Franck and Charles-Marie Widor. From 1900 until his death he was Titulaire organist at Notre-Dame de Paris.
"Clair de lune" (moonlight) is a part of his "24 Pièces de Fantaisie" and very impressionistic.
