Fantasia and Toccata in D minor, Op 57

Written in 1894, this fantastic work acknowledges Bach in it's opening flourishes. Uniquely Stanford, this piece is a showcase of English/Irish organ music.

I am recording this "one year later" - it was the last piece I learned before the pandemic kept us all home - and I am so grateful for the silver lining of time to practice, and wonderful technology such as Hauptwerk. Of course, the online community has been tremendously inspirational and encouraged me to practice and to try and get better. Thank you for dropping by and being part of that!!

I play this on the wonderful St. Mary-Le-Bow extended sampleset by Lavender Audio. The pipe organ was installed and voiced by Kenneth Tickell in the summer of 2010, and released as a multi-channel Hauptwerk sampleset in 2019. Lavender Audio have created an extended specification instrument using only samples from the actual organ, and present a versatile three-manual instrument.
