Sample Producer: Pipeloops
Sample Set: Weigle organ evang. Stadtkirche Nagold
Software: Hauptwerk IV
Genre: Contemporary
Description:
Robert ROGIER was my first organ teacher after my piano studies. He was born in Nancy (east of France).were he was first organist of the temple of the reformed church (while always studying in Conservatoire with Pierre Cortellezzi, organist of the Cathedral.... next sample of Piotr !) and after organist several years of the CHurch Saint-Fiacre..He learned in Paris (Schola Cantorum) with masters such as Huguette Dreyfuss (Harpsichord) and Jean Langlais (organ). He was appointed as organ teacher in Paris and organist too (http://montmartrebear.free.fr/montmart.org/rogier/). WHen he moved to Paris, he appointed me as his assistant and then as titular organist (as I was also studying with Pierre Cortellezzi.... who appointed me later as assistant at the Cathedral organ until he retired). Robert loved improvisations, Franck, Messiaen and Bach. After his death, his sister gave me some handwritten scores he wrote. Among them, is this well known choral melody. This is a calm and tormented work, dark and luminous at the same time. It's my tribute to a hypersensitive artist who died too soon.
