Italian organist and composer Leonardo Antonio Di Chiara (b. 1969) was born in Foggia and was educated there and in Lecce. He has won awards in several performance competitions and is active as a solo, duo and concerto performer.
The Gargano tarantella is a popular song that is sung in the northern area of Puglia, Italy. Di Chiara extrapolated the bass of the song and worked out the variations on this bass theme. It's a very fine piece, perfect for the beautiful Flauto of Valvasone.
