Description: | Mein Herr Maler, will er uns wohl abkonterfeien?
Mich, den reichen Bauern Troll und mein Weib Mareien?
Michel, meinen ältesten Sohn,
meine Töchter kennt er schon!
Gretel, Rosel, Trinen
haben gute Mienen ....
A witty folk song of the late 18th century. The text is after B.U. Dunker from 1782.
I composed the 4-part movement in November 2018.
We hear 4 strophes in different registrations, the 3rd is an independent trio, the final one with everything the small organ in Iba has to offer. The movement is very polyphonic with canonic entries, whereby all 4 voices have equal rights, as is often the case with Bach, which does not bode well for pedal playing ;-)
For those who are interested, I have attached the sheet music. I played the 1st and 2nd voices live, then the 3rd and 4th in 2 extra runs, and then placed voice 4 in the pedal via channel change.
