José Maria Usandizaga (March 31, 1887- Oct. 1 1915) was a Basque composer, studied with d'Indy and Dukas in Paris, but sadly died of tuberculosis at the age of 28. He still managed to compose about 20 organ works.
This is definitely romantic music, and as one plays and listens, one wonders what might have happened if this young composer had lived longer. The sounds of the Nancy Cavaille-Coll seemed appropriate, as José would have heard them if he attended Mass while in Paris (as he very likely did!)
