Description: | Charles-Alexandre Fessy (1804-1856) was a renowned Parisian organist, the first one of the new Cavaillé-Coll at La Madeleine church. A few years later, he swapped places with Lefébure-Wély and took the earlier organ of St-Roch , Cavaillé-Coll wanting to have the most famous organist at his newest instrument of La Madeleine.
Fessy style could be described as "pre-Lefeburian"and is typical of his period, with a mix of dramatic themes and light-opera effects, all that with a wealth of repeated chords.
This piece begins by a short introduction and the main theme enters at 1:03 . |
