Description: | I thought this would make a good 'guess the composer' quizz but as you can see it's by Max Reger and it's an example of his piano music. If you find the big Reger organ works too ferocious (eg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nE-8XaYDLxc ) and the chorale preludes too pious then here's another side of Reger from * 8 Improvisations Op 18. His piano music owes much to Brahms and Chopin as was common at the time. These date from 1902 or earlier but this is the only organ-friendly one.
Johann Baptist Joseph Maximilian Reger (19 March 1873 – 11 May 1916) was a German composer, pianist, organist, conductor, and academic teacher. He worked as a concert pianist, as a musical director at the Leipzig University Church, as a professor at the Royal Conservatory in Leipzig.
