I almost took a tour of this magnificent organ of Regensburg Cathedral. And, as my evaluation license is coming to an end soon, I still wanted to record a last work.
I took out a piece of choice from my library that I hadn't played for at least 15 years : Franck’s third choral. It was like a serious challenge for me. After a little rereading session, the essentials were still remembered. Here and there the swell expression pedal sometimes responds too quickly (I have to replace it soon). It begins to be old.
I wasn't decided to publish this recording, but hey, it's to please a friend. The fingers have not lost everything they had learned
Despite everything, I chose the wrong preselection at
9:30 minutes, so I had to make an edit… I had engaged the tutti prepared for the final section. It is therefore normal that you hear a glitch (editing isn't my speciality). I didn't want to start all over again. This record was made in one take.
I took the time before recording to listen again to the CD that my dear Master had made of it on his organ in Nancy Cathedral.
I respected his instructions (remembering our exchanges when I was at the organ with him), except perhaps in the last part where I wanted to make the tutti heard (sorry for the somewhat abrupt switching on of the preselection).
Pierre Cortellezzi passed away on 20 novembre 2015, and I had the chance to be first his student, then his friend..and also his assistant during his holydays.
