Georges Jacob studied the organ with Alexandre Guimant. His style is also influenced by that of the Niedermeyer School where he was also a student. This suite was published in 1911 (Schirmer).
The whole Suite is very meditative. The registration instructions are very clear.
The French character of the Regensburg organ greatly helps in the interpretation of these works.
The "meditation" and the "Bénédiction" are very endearing works. All the flutes stops together in the "Bénédiction" are almost miraculous, even ecstatic.
