Antony Garlick (1927–2000) — Processional for a Ceremony (1981) for organ
Composer and organist Antony Garlick (1927–2000) was born in Sheffield, England and was educated at the Royal College of Music in London and in Rome and Siena, Italy. His teachers included Harold Darke, William Harris, Fernando Germani, and O. H. Peasgood. Garlick emigrated to the USA in 1950 and spent many years as a member of the music faculty of Wayne State College in Nebraska. His large output of compositions includes works for orchestra, band, chamber music, vocal and choral music, and much organ music. (One of Garlick’s students was the organ builder Lynn Dobson. Garlick commissioned Dobson’s Op. 2 in 1975 as a house organ.)
