Jan Albert van Eyken 1823-1868

Born on 29 April 1823 in Amersfoort, Holland, he studied at the Leipzig Conservatory with Mendelssohn, Hauptmann, Bade, Richter and Becker and later especially in organ playing with Johann Schneider in Dresden. In 1848 he became organist in Amsterdam, in 1853 he took up the post of organ teacher in Rotterdam and later moved to Elbersfeld as organist.
