| Description: | It's more than one and a half years since I uploaded my last recording of a Prelude (and Fugue) by ernst Friedrich Richter. I guess I got sidetracked by all sorts of other little projects.
That las one by the way is here: https://www.contrebombarde.com/concerthall/music/32884
And I want to mention the beautiful performance of Erik Simons (Hoofdwerk) as well: https://www.contrebombarde.com/concerthall/music/34094
As there are two more prelude and fugues in the manuscript I'm working from, it's about time continue with the next one.
As usual with Richter, the E flat major Prelude and Fugue is thouroughly rooted in Baroque idiom and rhetoric as well. The Prelude is beautifully crafted with the 'Seufzer' (sigh) figure.
I'm not entirely decided how I want this prelude to sound. Therefore two recordings on two different sample sets with two different tempi.
And I'm still working on the fugue, so no score yet. It'll probably take me a week or so.
Which performance do you prefer?
