Charles Edouard SCHLUTY is the brother of Jean-Joseph (https://www.contrebombarde.com/concerthall/music/57344) who published in the same collection (N°22).
Charles Edouard was born on 22 august 1826 in Hoerdt in Alsace. He died on 26 mai 1866 in Pézenas. He was first organist in Lunéville (in east of France) where he get married in 1850 with a women born in Montpellier and who died at the age of 22. From 1851 to 1866 he played the organ in St Jean church in Pézenas. He was also piano teacher. He married for the second time in 1857 with a pianist (Françoise Alice PEYS).
He dedicates this op 25 to Aristide Cavaillé-Coll. This opus contains only 4 works. I find this works elegant, in an other style than that of his brother. All the pieces are meditativ. Registrations demand only fundations stops.
I use for this recording the 1909/1984 Rieger-Kloss organ of the cathedral of Notre Dame of Budapest also called the the Matthias Church, I don't use the specific IR provided by Inspired Ac. I use the Manheim IR from the same producer. The organ (imho) sounds realy better with it.
