Julien-Fernand Vaubourgoin (1880-1952) was a French composer, student of Dupré and eventually head of the Bordeaux Conservatoire. He wrote a fair amount of music, very little of it was ever published. Among his works are 3 Symphonies for organ, fine late romantic/impressionist works. I became aware of them while doing research for my Organ Symphony book, and managed to track down #2 and 3, then eventually received the 1st symphonie after being put in touch with the grandson of the composer.
I scored this movement from the manuscript copy, and present it here - I was privileged to give what I believe to be the US premiere of it also back in 2015. I'm fairly sure the work has only been heard a few times, most likely not recently. It is titled "Epithalme" (a form of poem that is written specifically for the bride on the way to her marital chamber). This has a date at the end of the mvt 16 Sept. '47, and is dedicated "to my friend and student Jean Oubain
